Resnik Reminders - March 22nd, 2010

We are in need of walking club helpers on Wednesday mornings to help distribute prizes from 8:00 am to around 8:30 or at recess in good weather. If you can help out we would greatly appreciate it!

Cookie bakers/buyers needed
We could use a few people to bring in 1-2 dozen cookies for the Resnik Pride program on Wednesday. Just bring in your cookies on Wed morning at drop-off. Thanks!

Market Day orders due this Thursday
Shipment will be delivered on Tuesday, March 30th. Think about your holiday meals over the next month and order today.

President and recording secretary still needed
We currently have a slate of candidates for all positions except president and recording secretary. If you are interested in another position, then we will present a ballot at the April 14th PTA meeting. Please consider how you can make a difference at Resnik by helping with the PTA. If you would like to get more involved, please contact Cathy Erisey at cerisey@stark-knoll.com.

Volunteers needed
Resnik will be using the Accelerated Reader Enterprise program starting in May (replacing our RAH version). This will allow our students access to over 140,000 quizzes. We need volunteers to label all of our books for this new program. You can volunteer during the school day, for as long or short as you like, based on your schedule anytime between March 29 and May 31st. Please contact scgmg@yahoo.com if you are interested in helping and we will contact you with further details in the next few days.

COMING SOON! Resnik PTA's second annual Reverse Raffle Night! ONE STARRY NIGHT!
April 30, 2010
6 to 10 p.m.
St. George's Fellowship Centre
3204 Ridgewood Road -- Copley

All adults are welcome to join Resnik parents and staff for a fun evening of prizes and unique raffle and auction items. Ticket includes chance at Grand Prize of $1,000, full dinner buffet, appetizers, desserts and giveaways. Event also has a cash bar and music from 91.3 The Summit .

We will also honor Resnik kindergarten teacher Mary Jo Marksz for her 30-plus years as an Akron Public Schools educator.

EARLY BIRD DEADLINE: April 1 -- All ticket orders turned in by that date are entered in a drawing to receive an additional chance at the $1,000 Grand Prize! Final ticket deadline April 23. Questions? Interested in helping? Contact Kathy Folkerth at (330) 865-6948 or folkerth@yahoo.com.

BASKET RAFFLE Coming soon too!
In conjunction with One Starry Night, we will again conduct a raffle of fabulous baskets filled with great donations from local businesses! All students will receive tickets and a list of baskets right after spring break, April 12. Tickets are $1 each. Top student seller will win a prize pack valued at $50! Winners will be chosen at One Starry Night but need not be present to win.

We are still accepting donations for the basket raffle! Please contact Kathy Folkerth at (330) 865-6948 or folkerth@yahoo.com if you have something to contribute.

We are also in need of large baskets or unique containers to make the baskets. Please drop off at the office. Thank you!

Spring Music Program
Our 2nd and 3rd graders will be performing two shows on April 1st, at 1 pm and 7 pm.

Box Tops Challenge- only 9 more days to get your box tops in.
Go ahead and clip them off of the Kleenex and cereal boxes now. Don't forget the bonus opportunities at Giant Eagle. The class with the most Box Tops will have a Bouncy Party in school! We made over $1500 from those little Box Tops.

Campbells labels- Thanks to you, we recently purchased footballs and chalk for recess using our Campbells Labels for Education credit. Keep sending in those labels.

Spring cleaning=uniform consignment sale
Another year of the uniform at Resnik CLC means another uniform consignment sale. This year the sale will be held on Wed., May 12th from 3:00-6:00 for current Resnik families and 6:00-7:30 for anyone in the community (coincides with our last PTA meeting.) So, as you are clearing out the outgrown clothes, set them aside for our sale. Just like last year, 100% of the sale will go back to you, the sellers. Any clothes not picked up by Friday morning will be donated to the nurse for use at the school.
